For the "U1" diving watch, Sinn's engineers thoroughly pursued quality and performance in both materials and design, completing a timepiece that exhibits excellent resistance to external influences even under harsh conditions. In their search for steel with the desired properties, they arrived at ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, a German submarine manufacturer. This company supplies Sinn exclusively with a small amount of the original steel used in the construction of current German submarines for the manufacturing of diving watches. This is the same steel used for the outer hull of the German Navy's new Type 212 submarine, considered the world's most advanced non-nuclear submarine. In addition to exceptional seawater resistance, it boasts top-tier non-magnetic quality with no residual magnetism. The rotating bezel employs a special fastening method that securely fixes it to the center of the case to prevent detachment even from severe impacts. It offers high legibility, and its water resistance and pressure resistance (100 bar = 1000 m depth) are certified by DNV. The pressure used in the safety tests for certification was 125 bar. Despite its simple appearance, the U1 series is an extraordinary wristwatch, a perfect tool watch.
