This model is based on the "62GS Modern Design Model," a contemporary reimagining of the "62GS," Grand Seiko's first-ever automatic mechanical model released in 1967, and expresses the unique Japanese transition of seasons through its dial. It features a dial that captures the scene of "Hanaikada" (flower rafts), where fallen cherry blossoms scattered by the wind cover the river's surface after the "Shunbun" (vernal equinox), one of the 24 solar terms.
