This is a Japanese-made 18k gold frame, partially handmade by a craftsman.The brown layers of sardonyx (banded agate) remain in some areas.The craftsman decided to purchase this cameo after being told it was "hand-carved" by a dealer in Kofu from whom they bought it.While it is indeed difficult to judge with the naked eye, when examining the carved areas with a 10x magnifying glass, the edges appear slightly softened.However, the difference from machine carving seems minimal.As it is not by a specific artist, there is no price difference.This is recommended for those looking for a different atmosphere compared to the stamped-like carving of other machine-carved pieces.
